ESET research dissects IIS web server threats – How IIStealer steals credit card data – The flood of spam in your inbox

This week, ESET researchers presented at Black Hat USA 2021 on their discovery of previously undocumented malware families that are implemented as malicious extensions for Internet Information Services (IIS) web server software and target government mailboxes and credit card details. These IIS web server threats include IIStealer, a trojan that pilfers payment information from the customers of e-commerce websites. Also at the conference, a study sought to find out if sharing your personal information with big companies contributes to a proliferation of junk emails, texts and phone calls.
